Klabak or Old-fashioned Brommustache
Writing out tickets in his notebook, waving his bat, keeping an eye on people, chasing rascals and handcuffing the crook.
Recognizable? Some tasks belonging to a Patrolman from the first half of the 20th century. Complete with Nestel, a cord of honor. He is so proud as a peacock of his position, or is that not so bad?
The (swear) word Klabak (Police officer) was mentioned in books as early as 1886.
This officer of the law ensures that your event, company party or annual fair runs smoothly.
This professional actor perfectly captures the atmosphere of the past. The Warden of that time. Is he cheating on you now? Do you have to go in the crook's car?

The word Klabak (Dutch for Patrolman) used to be used as a term of abuse for the police. Words such as cop, ball jatter, chicken, kit, five times eight and juut were also used.
Klabak came from Bargoens. A minority language from the first half of the 20th century, used mainly by the homeless, so-called vagrants,
itinerant traders, merchants, fairground operators.
Dahlia Days Voorthuizen with Ganzenhoedster, Barrel Organ, Klabak and Old Dutch Candy Stand:
"1 of the geese didn't want to go along and had to stay behind, so we arrived at the school a little later for the kick-off. But it was so funny.
The Scarecrow who was there did a lot of fun. The Barrel Organ Man is a cheerful man who has played a lot. The Klabak is genius.
I only heard good stories and there was a lot of laughter. It started a bit rough on Saturday because we didn't have a stall ready for the candy stall,
as we had indeed discussed. Thank you for your patience before that, but what a turnout afterwards. We had bought off 300 bags for children
who participated in the flower insertion of the mosaics on Friday. Nice interaction between Klabak and the Candy Girls. They handed out fake money to children
so they could bribe the Klabak."
